Join our event about lighting in schools where we will share different perspectives on lighting in schools from both theoretical and practical point of view. We will start with lectures of two researchers:

Welcome: Fika and mingle 17:00-17:20
Hillevi Hemphälä, PhD, Lund University, will present why creating a healthy lighting environment in schools is essential. How do visual stress and glare affect children’s health, concentration, and headaches? Do we need to better consider the one-third who are more sensitive to visual stress, and therefore more vulnerable in the classroom? Join a lecture that challenges how we prioritise lighting in schools.
Stavroula Angelaki, PhD, KTH, will talk about how spatial lighting distribution in schools influences children’s attention and creativity. How lighting design in educational spaces can be adapted to children’s activities and viewpoints? Stavroula’s research incorporates children’s perspectives into the design, installation, and evaluation of new lighting solutions.
We will then continue with a panel discussion where our two invited lighting designers join Hillevi and Stavroula to discuss together current practices and future possibilities for improvement: Isabel Villar, White Arkitekter and Joe Hutt, Zenisk. We will welcome comments from our guests as well.
The event will be held in English (Swedish comments are welcome too of course).
